Learn More About Our Family-Owned Barbados Beach Resort
Established in November 2015, Sugar Bay Barbados is a family owned and operated 4-star all-inclusive beach resort. The brainchild of the Seale Family, who, led by patriarch and veteran hotelier, Gordon Seale, conceptualised the family-friendly accommodation and offering that has been twice named one of the 25 best all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
Focusing on gourmet dining options, friendly and efficient service, a selection of well-appointed rooms and suites and a wide range of amenities the resort caters to many different types of guests offering bespoke vacation experiences that they won’t soon forget.
The Seale family has been making unforgettable beach vacations possible since 1986 when they first purchased Sand Acres Hotel in Maxwell, Christ Church, and then later opened their second successful resort, Sugar Bay’s “big sister”, an intimate 100-room boutique hotel called Bougainvillea Beach Resort in 1995.
Building on the success of Sand Acres and Bougainvillea, the development of an all-inclusive family friendly brand seemed almost the next natural step. Using their core working formula of extraordinary staff, a personal touch, gorgeous beach views and a laid-back beachy vibe Sugar Bay Barbados has quickly become the go-to resort of many visiting the island and much like Sand Acres and Bougainvillea has become a favourite home away from home for its over 30% loyal repeat guests.
After closing Sand Acres in April 2018, rebranding Bougainvillea Beach Resort to Bougainvillea Barbados and extending their operations into the vacation rentals, collectively the accommodations now fall under the Odyssey Collection Brand. An epic brand, that speaks to the journeys our guests have had with us, and the epic journey the family has had with the hotels and their beloved guests.
